Cool IDM Usage Tips you Might not know
If the IDM program matches the type / extension list of the file you are downloading, it automatically inherits the download from any browser. You can edit the extension list in the "IDM Options-> General" tab.
If you hold down the CTRL key while clicking on any download link, the IDM will take over the download. You can also define a different key for this operation in the Options -> General tab -> Keys section.
If you hold down the ALT key while clicking on any download link, IDM will not take over the download. You can also define a different key for this operation in the Options -> General tab -> Keys section.
If you need help on any topic, you can click on the F1 key and the help menu will come up against you.
If you do not want the IDM to inherit any downloads from the browser you are using, you can remove the browser association you want from the Options -> General tab section.
You can drag and drop links from any web site into the Download Basket in IDM. You can activate the Download Basket from the "Tasks -> Show download basket" section (a small icon will appear in the lower right corner of the screen).
After downloading each file, you will see the message "Download completed file open?" window, you can disable it. You need to uncheck "Show Download Complete window" in the "IDM Options -> Downloads" section.
While saving the file, you can close the "start download" dialog box. You need to uncheck "Show download start window" in the "IDM options -> Downloads" section.
You can reduce or disable the size of the download window by clicking the "edit" button in the "Customize download progress dialog" section in the "Options -> Downloads" section.
